The Research Travel Grant was established by the generosity of California Supreme Court Justice Kathryn Mickle Werdegar (Ret.) and David M. Werdegar, M.D., in honor of Selma Moidel Smith.  The funding from this grant helps to defray the expenses of graduate students and law students who need to access archival materials related to California legal history.  The Society awards individual grants of up to $1,000 to be used for travel and/or accommodation expenses related to a research trip. Your donation will help to ensure this grant program will continue into the future.
